Walt Disney is one of the most iconic figures in American history. His legacy as a pioneer of animation and entertainment is unmatched, and his creations have brought joy to generations of children and adults alike.

But what was Walt Disney really like as a person? What was his creative process? And what was it like to work alongside him?

In this exclusive interview, we sit down with some of the legendary artists who worked alongside Walt Disney to bring his magical creations to life. They share their firsthand accounts of the man behind the mouse, his creative process, and the lasting impact he left on the world of animation.

The Early Years

Walt Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 5, 1901. He showed an early interest in art and drawing, and by the age of 14, he had already sold his first cartoon.

In 1919, Disney moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he worked as a commercial artist. In 1920, he met Ub Iwerks, a fellow artist who would become his lifelong friend and collaborator.

Together, Disney and Iwerks created a series of short animated films, including "Alice in Cartoonland" (1923) and "Oswald the Lucky Rabbit" (1927).

The Birth of Mickey Mouse

In 1928, Disney and Iwerks created Mickey Mouse, one of the most recognizable characters in the world. Mickey Mouse quickly became a huge success, and Disney soon founded the Walt Disney Company.

Over the next few years, Disney and his team of animators created a series of classic animated films, including "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (1937),"Pinocchio" (1940),and "Fantasia" (1940).

The Creative Process

According to the artists who worked with him, Walt Disney was a demanding but inspiring leader. He was always pushing his team to be creative and to come up with new ideas.

"He was a perfectionist," said animator Frank Thomas. "He wanted everything to be just right, and he wouldn't settle for anything less."

But Disney was also known for his sense of humor and his ability to create a fun and inspiring work environment.

"He was always joking around," said animator Ollie Johnston. "He loved to make people laugh."

Disney's creative process was often collaborative. He would often brainstorm ideas with his team of artists, and he was always open to new suggestions.

"He was always willing to listen to new ideas," said animator Ward Kimball. "He was always looking for ways to improve things."

The Legacy

Walt Disney died in 1966, but his legacy lives on. His films continue to be enjoyed by generations of children and adults alike, and his characters have become some of the most beloved in the world.

Disney's impact on the world of animation is immeasurable. He pioneered new techniques, such as the use of sound and color, and he helped to create a new art form that would entertain and inspire people for generations to come.

But Disney's legacy is about more than just his films. He was also a visionary entrepreneur who built a global entertainment empire.

Disney's legacy is one of creativity, innovation, and imagination. He was a true pioneer who changed the world of entertainment forever.
