LIR is served by a smaller number of airlines, but it is often a cheaper option than flying into SJO.

Once you arrive in Costa Rica, you can travel to your cruise port by bus, taxi, or private car. The journey from SJO to the cruise port in Puntarenas takes about 2 hours. The journey from LIR to the cruise port in Caldera takes about 1 hour.
