In 1939, when Anna was 19 years old, her father passed away suddenly. This was a devastating blow to the family, both emotionally and financially. Anna's mother had to go to work to support the family, but she could not earn enough to make ends meet. The family was forced to sell their home and move into a smaller apartment.

Anna was determined to make a better life for herself and her family. She worked hard in school and, after graduating, she got a job as a secretary. However, she knew that she could not achieve her dreams in Russia. The Soviet Union was a closed society, and there were few opportunities for advancement.

In 1950, Anna decided to leave Russia. She packed her belongings and boarded a ship bound for New York City. She arrived in the United States with just a few dollars in her pocket and no knowledge of the English language. But she was determined to make a new life for herself.

Anna found work as a seamstress in a garment factory. She worked long hours for low wages, but she never gave up on her dream of a better life. She took English classes at night and, after a few years, she was able to get a job as a secretary at a small business.

In 1955, Anna met Bob Roitman, a young engineer from Poland. They fell in love and married a year later. Bob was a kind and supportive husband, and he encouraged Anna to pursue her dreams. She went back to school and got a degree in business. In 1965, she opened her own clothing store.

Anna's business was a success, and she soon expanded to several locations. She was a shrewd businesswoman, and she worked hard to make her customers happy. She also gave back to the community, donating money to charities and supporting local schools.

Anna and Bob had two children, a son and a daughter. They raised their children in New York City, and they were proud to be a part of their community. Anna was a loving and supportive mother, and she always put her family first.

Anna Roitman passed away in 2015 at the age of 95. She lived a long and full life, and she achieved everything she set out to do. She was a successful businesswoman, a loving wife and mother, and a generous philanthropist. She will be remembered for her strength, determination, and love.
